Smart RV design means one system, from one team

AUTHOR: Jack White    SEP.29, 2026

Most trailers become a smart RV through the accessory aisle. An app for the battery monitor, another for the leveling jacks, a third for the camera kit, each from a different company and none of them talking to each other. The result is a rig with plenty of screens and very little intelligence.

The Evotrex-PG5 was engineered the other way around, with power, towing, cameras, and cabin controls designed together from day one. Here is what an integrated smart trailer actually does for you.

Evotrex-PG5 charging an electric truck at camp

Intelligent battery management you never think about

The foundation is the energy system. A 43 kWh LFP battery, 1.5 kW of integrated rooftop solar, and a quiet automotive-grade gasoline generator run as one smart integrated system delivering 270+ kWh of usable energy per cycle. The intelligence lives in how it manages itself. The generator engages automatically when the battery is low, solar contributes whenever the sun is out, and the system manages charging across a NACS connection and regenerative braking while towing without you touching anything.

You see the whole picture on a real-time power dashboard, and the Evotrex App even tracks generator service intervals automatically. Power becomes something you monitor with a glance rather than a spreadsheet.

One control interface for the entire trailer

Every function runs through one magnetically docked central control interface, portable inside and out. Climate, lighting, power distribution, systems monitoring, and exterior cameras all live in one interface. Smart dials in the bedroom adjust temperature, lighting, and glass tint without reaching for anything larger, and the dynamic skylight shifts from clear to opaque with a single touch.

The physical systems answer the same way. Auto-leveling stabilizers deploy and level with one button, motorized entry steps extend with one touch, and the Terrece™ patio and power awning deploy in seconds. Setup that used to take an hour of cranking now takes minutes.

TowSync™ makes the trailer an active partner on the road

Traditional trailers are dead weight behind the hitch. TowSync™ adaptive tow assist uses the PG5's onboard electric motor and a high-precision force sensor to continuously adapt to road conditions and sync with your tow vehicle. It minimizes drag, maximizes range and efficiency, and adds advanced stability control with triple-redundant braking.

It is designed for electric, gas, and diesel trucks alike, so the same intelligence works whatever you tow with. Our towing capacity guide covers how to verify your truck's numbers before you hitch up.

Cameras and parking help where trailers need it most

Backing a trailer into a tight site is the moment every owner dreads. The PG5 gives you camera coverage on all sides with a real-time bird's eye view, so you can see exactly where the trailer sits relative to trees, rocks, and the fire ring while you park it.

The same camera system feeds the central control interface at camp, which means checking on the hitch, the awning, or a noise outside never requires leaving the couch.

Power sharing built in, both directions

A smart camper should be generous with its energy. The PG5 exports up to 12 kW through a NEMA 14-50 outlet and multiple 110 V outlets inside and out, sufficient for most home appliances. That covers e-bikes, power tools, another RV, or your house during an outage, and an average American household uses about 30 kWh per day.

For EVs it goes further. The PG5 charges an electric vehicle through its RangeBoost™ system, which delivers Vehicle-to-Vehicle DC fast charging at up to 60 kW through a NACS port at the front of the trailer.

Frequently asked questions

What makes an RV a smart RV?

Integration is the honest test. The PG5 runs power, climate, lighting, cameras, leveling, and towing intelligence as one system controlled from one central control interface, designed together by one engineering team.

Does the smart power system require management?

No. The generator engages automatically when the battery is low, solar charges whenever the sun is out, and the system balances every charging source on its own. You watch it all on a real-time dashboard.

What is TowSync™?

TowSync™ is adaptive tow assist powered by the PG5's onboard electric motor and a high-precision force sensor. It syncs with your tow vehicle to improve efficiency, stability, and control, and it works with electric, gas, and diesel trucks.

Can the PG5 power other devices and vehicles?

Yes. It exports up to 12 kW for appliances, tools, or home backup, and it charges EVs at up to 60 kW with the RangeBoost™ DC fast charging system.
